I rode with 2 mates (yes I have at least 2 lol) 1 on a 1100 slingshot, the other on a R1 & they left me & my other mate on a 1200 bandit for dead. Mind you they both ride as fast as poss & I still ride like a girl . I want the LC me back on the bike. I find it a bit hard trying to throw it into corners?

The difference is their geometry, you cant ride them as niewer bikes (wide and throw in the corners). If you ride her with a flow (as 2stroke were driven years ago) you ll notice that she gets less nerveus and even though you dont lean in the corners as niewer bikes do you go damn fast.

Worth it in the end to retain the stock forks but still a lot of mucking around.Handles and steers much nicer on the 17s and looks better I think,It feels less prone to flopping into corners as well.Sticky rubber has yet to be tested for grip and the rear shock and forks are next. Finally tried to run the speedo drive without a sleeve but that was bad idea so stopped being lazy and fitted one. Machining the speedo drive included taking 1.5mm off the plastic outer on 2 faces to stop it binding on the wheel but at last everything is going round and round as it should.
