sometimes something just jumps up and smacks you in the gob out of nowhere. such a thing happened to me tonight. at the kat rally last week one of the club membes asked me about some cams for his bike. anyhow ive loads of cams in a big box, and more still that i cant even find yet. so we had a dig round and i gave him the cam-motion g4s that i posted about the other day, (note gave, not sold-kat club member) anyhow. i remember years ago buying a set of new kat cams from ebay for iirc 50 quid. they were listed as stock cams and when they came i stuck them in a cupboard, no need for them at the mo, but they were cheap and i figured that for new cams still wrapped in brown paper, they were well worth 50 quid and if i ever needed a nice set of cams they were there. so they sat in my shed at the other house for a few years and then we moved in 2008, and theyve been in the new shed since. id never taken them out of their brown paper and bubble wrap, after all, what would i want to do with them. they were just cams. anyhow, tonight i dragged them out and had a look at them. now, the aftermarket stuff i have has the grinders identification on the end where the timing slots are, the CM ones are marked CM-G4, and the other set have 'tony' on one and 'scott' on the other. these cams have no markings on them. but as i held them i turned them round and on the other end there were some markings. !!!!! i think that was 50 quid well spent.....
