Hi all, are there any other back shocks that fit the standard B12 suspension linkage, or is there a different suspension knuckle that fits to allow a different shock to be fitted, as standard b12 is fork type at bottom.

If its a gen1 you can put a cbr600rr 03-04 shock. Fits right there, spring rate is good and you will only need to trim a bit off the battery box for the reservoir

I fitted a gsxr 750 k3 I think it was to my 98 bandit 12. It's a tight fit and raises the back end by a few inches. Had to space the dog bones out to clear the spring and rubs on the air box clips a little. Overall for £60 best handling upgrade so far. Preload, compression and rebound adjustment much better than a soggy standard unit

Hey,all! I've run gsxr 1000 '08 shocks on a '02, '01 B12's . like was stated earlier, it'll raise the rear some, they are a little tight, but much better units than junk stock B12 shocks.

Ive done a few mark 1's 6 and 12's, clive , there are loads that fit or can be made to fit, shock lengths
Mark 1 1200 306 mm Mark 1 600 300 mm Mark 2 1200 320 mm Mark 2 600 319 mm
Anything about 10mm longer can be made to fit but there's no point, I did fit a k1 gsxr 1000 ( 330mm )to a mark one but had to use the centre stand mounts and different link and dog bone,
I have fitted many ( 7 I think ) GSXR 1000 K7/8 rear shocks to mark 1 1200 and 600 bandits they are 315-320mm so go in with a squeeze, 4 washers to space the dog bones and a small bit trimed off of the plastic web under the mudguard.
GSXR 750/1100 slingshot remote reservoir shocks fit straight in but are all getting a bit old, I had one refurbished for £80 and it was excellnt.
I have also fitted an R6 rear shock which was the same length but needed a bush making for the bottom pivot as the holes are differant sizes.

Fbob, I've found a good deal on a k7 - looks brand new 75 pounds.. When fitted to a bandit600 mk1, does it lift up the rear? Im 170 so I need to avoid any jacking up ..

Im 170 so I need tojack id any jacking up .. yes it dose, you will need 5 or 10mm longer dog bones to bring the seat height back to normal.. measure the seat height, change yhe shock and leave the dog bones off, stick a trolly jack under the bottom of he shock, jack it up/down to the origional seat height and measures what length bones you needs

another thing, is the k7 1000 and 750 shocks identical, or do I need the one from the 1000 ? Also I found one that says "GSX R 600 750 K6 K7", it looks like it's the same item, can you confirm if it is or not? That's all, and thanks for helping out

I've received my gsxr shock, and it measures 320.. In the advertisment it stated it was a 600 750 k6 k7 shock.. Im really confused.. Fbob, can you tell me if the one I've got here is the same as the ones you've mounted, that did fit?
