Hi, just picked up what looks like a EZ motor. Just wanted to know if these had the factory welded cranks or not. Engine could just be a later model ET but has the two extra cam cover bolts and the black aluminium cam cap covers. The engine however is silver in finish not black. Cant see any evidence of any welding on the crank. Engine came with a few bonus bits too which is handy-Dyna S, manual cam chain tensioner+beefed up basket Thanks, Tim.

Looking straight into crankcase mouth theres no sign of weld. Could be earlier bottom end. Will dig a little further and see what else can be found. Cheers.

EZ motor was the last of that lineage before Suzuki made the jump to the 1135 spec. No welded crank as standard. Unless you is going to put lots of power through it, does it need it? You hear about twisting cranks on mahoosive big bore units or, conversely, low compression huge torque turbos.

Cheers chaps, No plans for ridiculous power. Just a clean up/check of parts and build a spare 1168 motor if any of it is any good. Otherwise just a spare parts stash.
