hi all... i bought a non running quad mainly for the wheels and suspension (for the boys buggy), but also had a gsxr750 motor in it! the code is R705. but this engine has a cable clutch . i need to get another sprocket cover because the bodging gits butchered the cover to try and get it in the quad frame! the question i am asking is, do i get a hydraulic or a cable activated cover?

It's the early 1st gen motor - 1985 - 87 , 48.7mm stroke, they had cable clutch operation. The rest of the engine code will tell you the year.

R705 means its from 85 - 87 making it a Slabby engine as already said.
Looks like it's just been converted to cable clutch. Clutch Cover looks like it's from a Bandit 6

Pah, old age catching up on my memory ! - forgot 750 Slabbies had hydraulic clutches, surprised they did that considering they were a real race rep.
