Why the string down centre of tyre? Best tool for lining the wheel up, a bit of string tied to the steering stem and the rear shock and a mark 1 eyeball...... Stand back and you can see if it all lines up i think he is young and learning .... if you dont ask you dont no........ good man........

so after much thought and deliberation the 7/11 will have to go, deffinetly, probably , for sure??? How much do you reckon, without the engine and oil cooler.. 88 750 j/k, l front end, 5.5 inch rear , r6 shock, gsxr 400 rear end and plastic, bandit loom and electrics all work fine, 400 bandit clocks, v5 in my name F reg, still has 750 on v5..?? £600-£700....

Steady on Tiger I aint that young :-) Lining wheel up with what? The rear with the front and ghe chain run is straight.. The string doesn't look straight to me looking at the picture.. And what exactly is the middle of the tyre anyway? Determine the if the swingarm itself is symmetrical and if its fitment in the frame is symmetrical as well.. (If not, compensate for this in the overall calculations/measurements).. Then take measurements from the swingarm to position the rear wheel correctly.. Then line up the rear wheel with the front using straight edges / aluminium profiles.. Then line up the front sprocket with the rear sprocket using a laser pointer or straight edge clamped to the front sprocket..
Oh well.. So long you're happy with it..

Oh well.. So long you're happy with it.. Its straight alright matey, when I fitted the oily enging and bandit rear wheel to the harris 3 years ago I did al that with the lasers and lengths of angel and spent 2 days convincing myself something was wrong, then I had a real good look at it and realised I was worrying about nothing, its been spot on since, so im using the same measurements for the cahin run and its all fine. and it looks straight from the back

It's an optical illusion, looks like the bearing and loose bit of string hanging to the right are making it look odd, if you photoshop them out it looks fine. Cheers SRR

Right now the 7/11's gone to someone who will actually use it ( cheers dave hope you got back home OK ) id better crack on, disc bots... Honda ones from the disc don't fit the wheel and the triumph ones for the wheel don't fit the discs arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so 3 hours of turning, thread cutting and hacking about I've got 12 bolts that fit, and very nice they do look
