I used slosh fuel tank sealer back in summer Aplied it to the letter using slosh detergent then applying it inside leaving it to cure etc then ive put petrol in it just recently and noticed today it's all fucking bubbled up where I can see down the fuel filler don't know wot it's like inside , so Tomorrow going have to drain the tank and swill it out again or use ball bearings clean it out wot a cunt, rang them up and they think its contaminated and have said they would investigate it which is good , has this happened to anyone else cause this stuff is normally like cement

What brand of tank sealer did you use? Kreem? POR-15? no-name? Did you stick to the instructions, and used the degreaser and prep that usually come with a sealer kit?

Have used one (can not remember what it was called, got the info some where ) but it has done the job for at lest 3 years. Do not use Petseal it is wa*k the petrol degrads it after time.

Forgot to mention I've used the POR-15 stuff on two tanks myself now.. The earliest application (EFE tank) was 6 years ago, and seems to be holding up very well.. Before sealing the Katana tank I decided to first use electrolysis to remove -what I thought were- a few spots of rust.. Apparently though the inside of the tank was covered in rust as it took a second go with a fresh sacrificial scrap steel anode to clean it out.. My point: Good preperation is key, and often it is hard to determine how rusty the tank actually is.. Any tank sealer will come loose if it is only sticking to rust flakes.. As for redoing a failed tank sealer job or just removing it, some sealer manufacturers also sell a stripper chemical.. Or some people have used vinegar (2 week soak) to loosen the sealer enough to remove it (but that would suggest using a stronger acid than vinegar would produce quicker results)

I once used vinegar to clean a rusty GS850 battery box. Left it to soak for a few days and all the rust could be wiped off with a brush. Works ammazingly well. Do not underestimate the power of vinegar

White vinegar is a good rust eater I used that for a tank a while ago ha ha you sounded like super hero "do not underestimate the power of vinegar man " I put the sealer in to protect the tank from future problems as fuel these days have some nasty additives I degreased , swilled with ball bearings let dry in the good summer we had then put stuff in left it for bout 3 months and now the stuff is bubbleing from the fuel going in so I'm just going swill it out and use the bike I will sort problems as I go and ride the fatty

i used por15 and its the business , i only use super unleaded now as it has less adatives .
