With 40mm carbs managed to flow to 160 hp then switched carbs to carry on for me. Katana what was spec of your engine in end to 185 was it still road legal. It was the turbo engine that had the boost up pipe disconnected so we could map the injection out N/A. So its low compression - 9.2:1, had a turbo blocking the exhaust (LOL) and 46mm bore Jenvey TB's with twin injectors per port. Maybe with a proper exhaust it might have gone higher - certainly would if the compression was upped! And yes it was fully road legal - it was ridden down to the Big CC shootout and recorded 369. something.

Ah that explains the result. Would be good to see with correct compression what would have done. How hard was it to set up. What cc was is it and was it stock head reworked.

Ha Ha - that's a story in itself. It was on and off the chassis dyno over a period of about 3 weeks - firstly a brand new Bosch fuel pump crapped out after a couple of hours then it literally melted a rear tyre. Dyno was run by a mate mostly for big power Jap cars but he knows his way round a Motec ecu as that's what it uses. He had one of his 'boys' on the bike twisting the throttle while he was punching numbers but after it tried to climb up and out of the rollers, the 'boy' wouldn't go near it again ! It is 1460cc and EVERYTHING is re-worked. I wanted to make 450hp but sort of lost interest - its still in the garage.........waiting!

Don't knock the 36mm's - they'll get nearly the same power as 40's but are nicer to use day 2 day and a damn sight easier to tune! 38mm's are probably optimal on 1100's other than using slide carbs!
