Can someone just confirm for me gen 1 busarods are a workable upgrade to the 1127cc K/L rods?
Anyone done this yet? If so then did busa rod to crank bearings fit ok?

Them fit the crank all right have even the same piston pen diameter but I am not sure about the length, thought smaller

My understanding was that standard 1127 rods were 117.5mm and busa were 119.5 I was hoping to ether put a sandwich plate (to lower compression) or double up on gaskets if that would mess it up too much. To be honest Compression ratios aren't my strong suit if anyone cares to help

To be honest Compression ratios aren't my strong suit if anyone cares to help 1127 rods are 117.00mm long. The 1052 slabbys have longer rods, 117.4mm. You'd be better off doing a dry build with no gaskets and measure the gap between piston top and the deck height and work out what gaskets are needed with the use of a compression calculator. Anything above 1:13 and the pump piss won't detonate properly.

Ok thanks, I'm guessing with turbo I want a slightly lower ratio anyway?
