Thanks, Great info.
What parts would I need to do the GSXR750 00-04 conversion?? I think they'll be easier to get a hold of, being from a newer bike.

You will need:
Inner hub Pressure plate Springs/bolts/washers All fibers/steels
Can usually find the entire clutch for a good enough price and you can discard the outer basket as you can't use it. Just make sure you get the items listed above.

birdoprey, If you were to change the gear plate would the outter barsket fit the shaft?? If it does you could use the bigger 1000 clutch. Maybe???

At one time I considered this but would have had to have shipped the basket off to have the gear swapped as I'm kinda in the middle of no where. I don't recall why I didn't try it. Not sure if the shaft would fit the inner basket. Just don't remember. I do recall there was enough room for the OD of the outer basket. I'm thinking the entire clutch is a little deeper and "might" require spacing the clutch cover out a little. I know I looked into the Busa clutch but the outer baskets OD would have been too big to fit.

I've bought a GSXR 750 (00-05) Barnett clutch kit with springs, fibres and steels. My local breaker has a GSXR 600 (00-05) inner basket, pressure plate, bolts and washers (which have all the same Suzuki part numbers as the 750)
Are there any other parts I need before I tackle the job??

What is the size of the 750 / 600 clutch. I thought part of the reason for doing the coil spring conversion was by swapping to the slingshot outer basket you got a slightly larger contact area? Am I missing something ? ? ? ?

Sorry for the late reply. My wife had surgery and I've been out of pocket for a bit. Yes, that will do. Question though...why the Barnett fibers and steels? They are ok for street use but are no where close to the oem at the track. I don't think they will last as long on the street as oem either, but have not tested that. Not wanting to discourage you and on the street they will perform decent. Just wondering?

Also...something to look for when purchasing used inner baskets and pressure plates. Look at the inner basket(and the Bandit outerbasket) where the fibers and steels make contact. They will wear grooves in the alum baskets(especially the steels where they contact the inner basket). Unless the grooves are absolutely horrible, you can file them down smooth. I always used a points file. Take a bit to do and is rough on the fingers, but no real cost involved. Just time. When installing the pressure plate, you will wanna make sure it is clocked correctly to engage the inner basket. If you look at where the pressure plate contacts the inner basket, you will see what i'm talking about. Its almost hard to not get it right but I have done it, so it is possible! lol

Am I missing something ? ? ? ? The 750/600 clutch is the same size as the Bandit clutch. You are correct in that most that swap to the GSX basket get a little larger clutch(which is why I had considered trying to figure a way to fit the GSXR1000 basket). This swap(the GSXR750/600) has these benefits IMO: MUCH cheaper and MUCH better availability than the GSX swap and even a lot of times cheaper than just replacing fibers if you are able to get good fibers/steels along with the inner basket/pressure plate More linear feel to the clutch. In my experience, the stk Bandit bevel spring setup is more On-Off. The coil spring setup is more linear. Not sure if everyone feels the same way though.

My breaker didn't have the springs, fibers or steels. That's why I went for the Barnett kit as it's cheaper than OEM here. If/when they wear out (due to my cack handed 2nd gear wheelies). I'll replace the fibers with OEM Suzuki
