Finally where back!
As some may know my 7/11 is finally on the road, but the drain tube o rings leak, so while I has stripping I compression tested her, got 90, 110, 100, 115 psi from 1-4, the manual says 170+ psi new and a min of 142, so thought mat as well do a 1216 conversation
Now, the only places I know of are debben, big cc, TTS and evil bay, where else sell the parts? Which brings me to another question, oviously need pistons, je? weisco? What do you recommend, what else should I get while im at it? Thinking of h/d studs, already have ape nuts, heads been skimmed and all valves lapped, so any tips will be great
Many many thanks danny

Thanks mate, I've emailed various people, but do you know off hand if the piston kits include head and base gaskets?
Thanks

also studs would b good choice. one thing u may need is stiffer clutch springs or a lockup.... depending on budget, if the motor is setup right it will make good power but will make the clutch start to slip in time

I'll stick with the clutch and see how she runs then, any thing else off hand I'll need? So far I've got piston kit, studs, gaskets for base and / or head if required, trying to get a 1200 bandit block to get bored ready, is it worth fitting a manual cam chain tensioner too?

not realy. as long as the stock one is in good order and the ratchet mechanism works ok then it should be alrite, ive just got a stock on in mine, worked fine for the last 5 years. But if you want the peice of mind then they cheap enough to buy

Hi Danny good to see you're going down the big bore route. I personally am fitting an APE manual cam chain tensioner to mine as a piece of mind precaution. Theyre what 30 quid? Seen quite a few disasters from failed factory tensioners. Just my two pence though mate. All the best Rich

Thanks rich, the biggest problem is sourcing a piston kit and studs, everyone seems out of stock Only thing is I don't personally know how to set a Manual tensioner up, as the guides I've read are really un informative, but yeah. Manual tensioner would be peace of mind

Manual Tensioners are a doddle, If I remember correctly. Wind it in finger tight, then 1/2 turn or so out. Then lock it off
But I'm sure some one will be along to correct me...
