I didn't get to do anything on the old girl until a couple of weeks ago. Back on it now though. Wiring slowly.
Tidying the shed to allow work took bloody ages.
There are those that say 36-1 may be too much at higher revs, a smaller Sensor for a Renault ABS system arriving this weekend, should fit in standard cases. I was going to have a new case machined up but this monster sticking out would have been a bit bulky.
Wiring is very scary so taking my time ( sic ) One sensor at a time....
OSS do in Burton this weekend, procrastination with beer......

Just for interest, a 50mm dia. 36-1 tooth wheel has worked satisfactorily using the std. gixer inductive pick-up.

Mine has worked great on both my 750 and 1100. Tried the same setup on an old Z1000 and it was a no go because the cranking speed was too eratic. Take the plugs out perfect, plugs back in , nothing. You could see it on the high speed tooth logger. So, we moved the missing tooth in the cranking cycle so it occurred durring the fastest part of the crank and that sorted it. Starts and runs good on a 36-1 wheel with a gsxr sensor as well. This is mine

Thanks chaps. I shall have a look up in the shed this evening.
So I could just pare my OEM pick down, lose one of them? That would be much neater.....

Looks like those crank sensors have the pick up tip sticking out the top rather than the side as mounted on that backing plate. One of those mounted on its side so the tip faces the trigger wheel would probably work ok though as long as there is space to get everything lined up. Or get yourself a gsxr one to play with.

That's true - in fact it doesn't look like Suzuki! Is this some sort of Frankenstein motor?

Very Frankenstein . A subtle blend of Carrillo, APE, OrientExpress, JE, Falicon, Kibblewhite, Upperton, Trickett and ................ FJ. The full build is on another forum but I was asked to do a short one on here as well, Soz
Found an old pickup set off one of my Slingshots.
Butchered it and mounted to the OEM plate, clears the wheel by 0.3mm, will that be OK?
Wheel is sitting 4mm proud on the photo as I need to drill the centre hole to 21mm, should spin directly through the centre line of the pickup.

Should be ok. Like Arttu has said, they are a bit suck it and see. Once it's wired up, and settings done, try it out. What ecu are you using?

Its funny - my brain kept saying that's an FJ lump but as this is OSS I thought nah - can't be but it is! Your obviously aware these spin backwards so need a reverse blade turbo? . . . . . . . . . . . It was worth a try ! LOL !

I want that plenum and manifold ❤️ The plenum will be replaced by an aluminium version at some stage. Stainless retains heat too much.
