Quick up date having clutch issues with Beasty, my custom clutch set up is little bit sensitive to say least! Resealed. Slave cylinder and bled up, covered new seat in fluid spray gutted, !!! But clutch works sweet now, but still oil leak seems to be coming from clutch rod! New seal on rod but rod maybe past it. What you recon. Cannot pull rod out its hard up against the cases in side it seems will look n manual tomorrow. As need a fecking beer.

Fula. Your bike is one of the bikes that have finally given me the push to do my own Cafe project. I found the images on the net and fell in love with the look of the bike. It was pure coincidence that after buying a GS550e I joined this forum and have come across your build thread. I have many questions to ask like how does going to the 17" rims affect the speedo reading etc.

Bless ya!!! Well your at right place bud, lots helpful guys on here and wealth of knowledge and experience too! Welcome to the mad house ,anyways everything fits in my world as I make it happen just choose carfully do your homework and see what other people get to work and go around that. My wheels are yamaha xt 2010 with spindles spacers and mounts to suit. They run 17mm spindles on yamaha, which is fine for gs550 rear end, but my fronts Gsxr slingshot Rwup forks 1988-1989 fittment, and had to box clever to fit that wheel I made a custom spindle to suit gsxr spindle ends pressed with 15tons press & xt 17" centre spindle. You will have challenges just take your time ask questions and buy right parts . I got my bike to look as it does just by being bloody minded and sticking to my picture in my head. If you need motor stuff let me know have cheeky 650, top end spare, and 6speed bottom end as well.

Thanks for the advice and I know I will take you up on a few things if that is ok. Currently I have a GSXR SRAD 600 complete front end and have ordered the bearings to make them fit. I have also got a set of 17" KTM LC4 supermoto wheels that will no doubt need a bespoke spindle making. My original plan was to have a twin disk set-up but that will mean a new hub and spokes which will not be cheap so may end up sticking to single disk for now unless anyone can suggest an alternative solution. I am looking a lowering the height somewhat (wife is 5'2") hence the shorter stronger forks and will get a set of shorter springs for the rear. I have 2 550 engines but am very interested in making a 650/550 as you have done if you have all the parts for sale and a bit of advice of course. The bike I bought was a rolling chassis so I do not have the luxury of knowing if all is there or even how it all goes back together lol.
