Have owned this bike since 2004. Had the motor rebuilt back in 2005, and has been faithful since. Last year got a bee in my bonnet about about building something for a final fling. Had some ideas in my head and began buy tearing it down to a chassis and starting over. Here are a few start up pics to get things moving along. Back in 2004, Limited Edition J with 55k on the clock. Into the workshop we go start of 2013 - tried out a few things for shits and giggles with the rear end in the months prior - didn't really have a feel for what I really wanted to do to begin with and so this year have decided to simply get it done. Panels stripped off, front end until we get down to the bare essentials, the frame. Parts filling the shelves quickly. As clean as they may look on the outside, the years catch up with everything sooner or later - the original triple looking very sad. Frame separated from engine and motor is benched. A few things we may or may not need later on - rofl Managed to find this at a wreckers yard in the UK for a princely sum, had it shipped as the original company closed down, and has been taken over by Metmachex I believe. Threw it together to get a better idea - Humble beginnings I would say. We are now at the beginning of June by this time.

Got the Triple sorted out. Geared up to accept late model front end. Put the Slabby Stem in a K8 lower. Just getting the centre mast sorted is all thats needed to finish it up for the steering lock to match the slabby frame, throw on some bearings and we're away

Threw in the updated shockie with the right colour, yellow didn't do it for me on this build. Looks racier with the red spring I thought. After a 6 hour nightmare trying to make it all fit together, buffing, grinding and massaging parts, finally got it to a stage im happy with. Couple of nylon washers, a quick bit of ali welding in the right spots, and I will be happy to bolt it down permanently.

Cheers boys, appreciate it. It goes without saying, its going to be a long journey, but worth the effort. @gsexr. I promise to make it a worthy build my friend, there will be no deformation here, rest assured

A few more things showed up in the post a few weeks ago. Had this cut to place over the top of the rear main frame to locate some of the electricals. Slabbies are notorious for acid leaks from the overflow tube on the battery, destroying wiring, relays etc etc so a relocation is in order there. Oh shit, how did that get in there - rofl
