Well i've been at this for several months now. I'm taking my time to get it right and also as money allows. Started with a low mileage GSXR 1100 M which was a bit tatty cosmetically, but very sound mechanically. Forgot to take any photos of the bike until i'd got this far into stripping it but it basically started like this So after freezing my bollocks off in a freezing garage over the winter, i'm now up to this. All fabrication work has been carried out by me. Only the welding has been outsourced. Still got a way to go with paint, wiring and seat re-working, but i'm very happy with the way its turning out

What are the headlights? Did you paint them black? Headlights are twin bates, yes they are painted flat black. Thanks Suban and Danny.

Love the engine. I've been inspired to do the same (black with shiny covers).

Thanks for the replies fellas. Picked up some new parts recently in the shape of a nice 4-2-1 micron exhaust, a different rear brake cylinder that fits my rearset mounting holes, had a new spacer made up to replace the speedo drive on the front axle.
I was on holiday for a while, so it will be back to the bike this weekend for more shenanigans, then i'll post some more pics.
Mightlife- the covers are painted with aluminium look engine enamel. I was going to polish them but changed my mind as it is a ball ache to maintain.

So thought i'd update the project. Here's my new billet rear reservoir New chain fitted Ignition re-located Micron 4-2-1 fitted Paint almost finished. I'm just having a play with some details. I've trimmed about 6 inches off the micron can and have'nt re-riveted the badge, thats why its sitting on the top. What do you think to the stripes?? Yes or no?? I'm getting close now, just battery and brake clutch lines to buy. Then fit the electrics, brake discs and carbs.

Bikes coming along well, looks really nice! Think the stripes could work, but i'm not sure. Maybe just go for a solid colour, then you can add stripes with vinyl/stickers etc later on if you want.

Hi mate, looks good! Is that a zx6r seat unit? And what rearsets are they? Thanks for the comments. Yeah mate its a 636 arse end and the rear-sets have been made for me by a very skilled chappy called Gixxersam.

Ey up our kid. I'm still debating the whole stripe deal, but if i'm gona do it then they will be lacquered in. I've had a few "yays" but more "nays" so far lol.

Like the work rich , white looks good, it a flat white or a pearl / metalic? Not sure on the stripes though, looks like an after thought compared to the high build quality if that makes sense?
