Got a bit of a problem with my 1996 750 SRAD (carb model) which is annoying the crap out of me at the minute.
When it's warmed up (ish, say after 6 or 7 minutes of running), it feels like it's got a stuttering misfire between 6-9k revs. It pulls well beneath that, or at least as well as a SRAD will pull below 6k.... And seems ok above that too.
Could it be coils starting to go? Although I'd expect it to be there above 9k too if that was the case. Possibly carburation? Although it's not had any mods for some time (except for me balancing the carbs, which doesn't coincide with the problem above). Plugs are recent (less than 1k miles and they are the correct rate Densos, I don't like NGKs) so I'd be disappointed/surprised if it was them.
Any ideas? Coils are my best guess. I do have a set of 'stick' coils off a later SRAD which I may adapt the bike to use - I just need to find some (cheap, think scrapyard!) connectors that will fit them!
Cheers in advance for any help!

Does it feel like all 4 cylinders or not quite right on 1 cylinder.
Plugs would be my first guess, but you have covered that. Next stop coils. Then carbs but just a clean & a gentle jet blow through on an air line.

didn't the first SRADs have some electronically controled carbs or something? Slides opening controlled by some valve? Might be worth checking that stuff.

Bit of an old thread, but I've not been using the bike much so haven't bothered looking at it until recently. Basically one of the little clippy things that sit inside the throttle slides (over the back of the needles) had become dislodged and the slide wasn't lifting all the way on one of the carbs. Clipped it back in and problem solved!
