My 7/11 with M motor starts with 711 which still makes me smile ...... simple things & small minds!

Ok, another question. The oil feed for the turbo, can it be taken from the oil line to the cooler? Or is the pressure too low? I'm not an expert on these oil boiler engines but I guess the oil going through the cooler isn't filtered. Typical take-off location seems to be from below the ignition cover. Here is the first photo that came up with google image search: i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/gutlasskilla/100_4093.jpg

We had the same issue with an engine stamped v712 according to what we could / not find, the thought is that v712 is a redused effect engine (aprox 100hp). Back in 88 I bought a slabby 11 from Germany (100hp) for parts, them have different pistons, valves, cams and a tooth less on the crankshaft.

His bike is certainly not down on power, we went for a ride and the V712-engined bike is faster than another mate's V711-engined GSX-R and faster than my powerscreen-engined EFE. It definitely has more than 100 bhp. Next week i will open it up to check valve clearances and stuff, i will see the camshaft ID's then.

Another question: What fuel pressure regulator is best to use? On the Proboost site www.proboost.fi/EN/sale.html we see one for 55 euros, but no brand/model information. Where can we buy one?

The level of build depends on the amount of boost he is going to run! A low boost set-up (6-8psi) can use stock compression and bottom end - providing its all in good condition. Due to his financial situation (divorse if the wife finds out too much smileychair) he will run the engine stock for now, on low boost (0,3 - 0,4 atm.) and if everything works correctly, next winter we will modify the engine to take serious boost.

That's a Malpassi regulator. I don't know exact model but if you look for a Malpassi for carbs I guess there aren't too many choices. As far as I know they work generally pretty well with bike carbs. I have heard that some of them may need a little tweaking for the spring to get the base pressure low enough but otherwise they should be fine. If you can't find one locally I guess ordering from Proboost is a good option. A friend of mine may have one of these spare, I can ask that if you like.

As we all know, threads are better with pics. So here we go. Today i went to my mate Saulius, he had the wheels and frame powdercoated, yesterday at work i reassembled the forks and mounted the tyres, today we assembled everything. Here it is on his homemade bike lift, ready to rock: But first things first. He is called Saulius the Butcher for a reason. After enjoying some excellent steaks and a bit of beer we threw everything together. The tailpiece is from a K6 750, plastics are away for painting now. He modified the frame himself. Oil cooler and other stuff are on their way. Should be here next week. In the next few days Saulius will make a plenum, i'm looking forward to see the result. He's doing everything with basic tools.

Saulius started making the headers. And found out it's a f*cking lot of work.

Another question.... On a random internet pic i saw the oil return line from the turbo connected inside the sump to the oil pick-up, so that the oil pump "sucks" the oil from the turbo, eliminating the need for a scavenge pump. Is this a good idea? Anyone done it before with good results?
