as I have two gsxr 1000 engine bikes k1/k2 , did anyone upgrade the front pipes ? are they free flowing as standard ti headers ? 143 hp as standard on the early ones so if anyone has a clue it would be most appreciated got power commander for each and k n air box filter, is there any air box mod or why ?

Is there a catalytic converter? get it removed, you cant do much with the airbox, maybe smoother air flow

You could always get your downpipes and link pipe ceramic coated inside and out to race spec. Getting that heat away from the engine should free up a few bhp. www.camcoat.com/main/coatings2.html

Gsxr1000 k5 header flows better & fits apparently. Not done it though. K5 cams fit too & give more top end (I have done this) Akrapovic make a nice full system & they do come up for sale quite often. Work well. Worth a mention tho, Freddie Furlong who has been ACU 9.50 champ a few times on his k2 thou uses the standard header so it can't be too bad. Nick
