Of linking to the old site to access the General info? I know the forum isn't accessible which is a shame due to the wealth of info there but some of the stickies / general topics would be useful references - in particular the turbo stuff as the same questions get asked and answered time after time after time!

The old Site came back up for a little while some months ago and a member on here managed to grab a load of info (and post it in this section) before it went down again. We have no control over the old site, so that would be up to who ever 'looks after' it.

It might not be a bad idea (for one of the mods)to create an email account (put in a sticky) where members off this site can e-mail anything that they have saved from the old site. I know it would be unsorted but the mods can start adding (in a structured manner), the bits and pieces to the new site over time. I have various stuff from the old site and I'm sure a lot of others have stuff too. Bit of a co-op effort could reveal a vast amount of info that might have been considered lost. God only knows if the old site will ever, if ever come back online.

Great idea. I also have info saved from the old site. Would be good to have a mods page or something with buttons related to specific mods.

I think it would need a load of Sub Boards under the info Heading, so you could have one for say shocks, carbs,, etc.

I agree Ash, would need sub boards etc but would be worth it. Would be a load of work, upto the challenge?

I have a full backup myself but is is A LOT of code and only little information. The entire site is on an HD I have and Jelly even has a more recent one. Thing with the old website and one of the reasons it went pop was the the YaBb software couldn't handle all the info any more. Every little thing was stored somewhere else so opening just a random page made the server work overtime. It's the same with how all now is stored in these backups, so I'm not sure how and if we can extract all the information from it, but an effort will be made asap.

What we need then is a list of proposed sub boards. Who wants to start the ball rolling? Once we have a list I can create the sub boards.

Shock absorber and wheel swaps would be good. Doing searches for both of these bought me back to this site after many years. I first came across OSS in around 1997/98 I think and I don't think it even had a forum back then As far as I can remember it was just a website with loads of articles on 7/11 projects, CBR wheel swaps, seat unit upgrades etc. Using the info off there I built up a pretty good GSXR 750 streetfighter that pissed off all the local lads on their GPZ 900's Anyway I'm rambling but I'll happily contribute with both of these as I'm currently building an 86 GSXR 750 with B6 front/rear wheels and an Ohlins shock from a H***a VFR 750 f.

Always miss losing a few hours trawling through them.
