Good question. What is cc if you put GSX 1400 pistons and busa rods? Are the K8 rods better than older ones? I have busa rods + pistons on my bike. Clean looking bike btw!

Thx! For sure it is not 1400cc, because it is still Bandit crank (shorter stroke - 59mm). If you compute it, it would have 1216cc.
GSX1400 pistons have same size like Buse ones but they have 18mm pin! So you need rod for 18mm pin or you make some sleeves inside the old ones. I like the GSX1400 pistons more, than the busa ones because they have same valve pocket size (squish...). I had to work them a little bit because valve have slightly other position.

My Bandit is smoking a little bit since one month under WOT. I checked the scavenge pump and made a compression chech and everything was fine. So I decided to swap the Garrett GT28 turbo to a chinese one. Prior I worked the turbine housing like I worked the Garrett housing a few years ago: When demonting the headers I could see a little bit oil inside all the exhaust ports. So after all it seams to be an engine issue... Allthough I swapped the turbo, because I was curious to see how the china one behaves with it´s slighty bigger turbine wheel (appr. 4mm bigger exducer). The compressor is slightly smaller, also the housing. I did not nice any more turbo lag. But with less exhaust backpressure it might have a bit more high end power (?). The only difference I could notice was the BOV which hisses a bit longer (?). May be the haevier turbine wheel spins a bit longer...

Cheers Gord! It´s amazing - with this turbo (bigger turbine!) full boost is reached at 4500rpm. Try to imagine when full boost is reached with the Garrett GT28 with the smaller turbine. But is was deffinitely not earlier! Dyno with both turbos would be interesting.

Demount the engine, because of little bit smoke. Pistons were ok, but Valve seals are hard like stone after a half year! Was a cheap gasket kit (sky racing) - never buy this again...

Before new gasket kit arrive, I will go on with the EFI:
