Hi to you all and Happy Chrimbo.. I have a question about GSX and GSXR engines...does the GSX1400 have the same engine mounting points as the Bandit 12/ GSXR1100 motor? and is the head section wider? :)Will one fit in the other like a GSX1400 in a GSXR frame?

You even have to make a GSX frame wider to take the 1.4 engine. So a Gixxer frame will be way to small.

So its the biggest engine out there? A Mag 4 will only take the GSXR/Bandit motor then?

So its the biggest engine out there? A Mag 4 will only take the GSXR/Bandit motor then? Well a Mag 4 is hardy ya average gixer frame .......... which i guess most answers would have been based on.... A call to Harris may be an option....or if you have the frame then a trip to a freindly breaker with a 1400 motor...to offer it over......... And as they say anything will fit with a little modification...............

Gsx1400 engines dont produce much power , they are injected to pass emissions, have had one and had 4 bandit 1200 s over the years , Gsx 1400 only way to extract decent power means decent set of carbs rs type , then a dyna s, then free flowing exhaust etc so unless your heart is set on one , you will need lots of money to get it as fast as a standard bandit with filters and Dynojet set up . Imho Would it not be better to fit a gsx 1100 ef engine for a mag 4 and have a classic beast

I take your point its a bit of a pup in terms of power but that can easily be resolved as you've pointed out.I asked about the other frames as this would give an indication on the Harris deal. I'm guessing now that it would just be easier to go with the bandit Mag 4 deal as there would be no mods required.I had one in the 90's and I'm thinking of doing another, just thought theres probably more low mileage 14 engines than there are 12's? The Harris has now slipped into oblivion with the new bikes about I guess there's no need other than that individuality deal...from memory it was small and light and wheelied like a bast The only way forward with the 14 would be an Harris F1 chassis but thats a grand up on the mag 4 from the get go and thats a lot of engine stuff..

harris magnums are a right good kit , if money is not a problem then they are a great bike to build. if you can build one for you and want to keep for a long time money not an issue that's the best way to do it .
from my experience of building bikes if you think its going to cost a set figure , best double it is my advice
