I know water cooled bikes aren't held in very high esteem on here, and Bandits are thought of the same way by a few... So, I sort of know whats coming here. I have been offered a 1250 Bandit for my bike, and wondered what they are like. I love Bandits, but never taken any notice of the new generation models. Are they any good ? I know the clutches on the older models were made of cheese which didn't bode well with the racers amongst us, are the 1250 clutches any better ? Any info appreciated

i have tried a naked 1250 a few months ago, and i quite liked it. Smooth engine, plenty power at low revs, comfy, good handling, maybe a little bit boring, too much "honda feeling", not very exciting.

I'm used to the 'Honda feeling' though To be honest, most of the newer bikes I've ridden have that feeling, no matter what make they are. The one I have been offered has been tarted up a bit with usd's and a couple of other bits, and a nice moto gp style pipe. I'm waiting for pics from the owner later today...

Ive been running an 08 1250 for almost a year now & imho they are a far better riders bike than either mk1 or m2 1157 bandits, smooth, torquey, plenty quick enough for a naked bike & handles a treat with my skinny arse on it & compared to oil boilers it sips fuel until ya start riding like a loon Bad points are, stock bars are the usual narrow uncomfortable suzi fare, stock riders seat is like a plank after an hour, still it copes well loaded up with the mrs & camping kit & is a load of fun on a twisty backlane ive seen a few about where the finish on engine & forks has started to bubble/peel but wether thats cos of poor paint or poor maintainance i couldnt say I say go for it

Well, its not happening now....another one slips through my fingers. When I saw the pics he sent, it wasn't quite as described, and a biggie for me was that its not what it says on the V5. Also needed a few repairs doing. Never mind, the search goes on.
