jack up the rear end a bit Thought about that but worried it'll steer too quick with the aprillia front end being shorter than stock.....

Right, I have made a decision. The aprilia front end is GOING. It is pi**ing be right off for too many reasons, top yoke is an awkward bugger to fit risers to, forks are a couple of inches shorter than I'd like and the taper at the top of the forks means I can't make a stepped upper yoke...and it's a 5 spoke aprilia wheel..what was i thinking....So it's going... There I've said it and I feel much better.

Triumph tank might look good with some filler on the lower rear to straighten out that angle. With some shaping down there it wouldn't be TOO far off from the original look even. Without it, there's a kinda ugly expanse of nothing between the lower front seat edge and the downward point in the middle of the tank. Really it's hard to tell without the engine and carbs in. Possibly decide on final mockup? Personally, I'm not into show bikes. I want something mechanically perfect and don't give a shit how it looks except for it gotta be scary, so I'd settle for the triumph tank and put the money a decent replacement tank would cost into more dependability or speed. YMMV. As many have said, that tank and tail are icons of the era. You might be forced to defend your sacrilege to the occasional purist.

Finally got time to put the usd front end onto the bike. Engine crane made it a doddle Headlight balanced just to see what it looks like....there's two bottom mount brackets for twin headlights that came with the front end so might go down that route.... Had lost interest in the efe for a while but try to get it finished over the summer. Too many projects on at the same time is frustrating and difficult, I need to prioritise...
