hello everybody... and welcome to my first propper big boys project! so i got myself a 1980 gsx1100 frame, its been part monoshocked. well i mean the back end has been cut off and new seat rails welded in. got a complete swingarm and wheel from a truimph something... cant remember what!. and hopefully getting a 750 k2 front end this weekend. so why am i calling it project MDK?... well i got a 1100f motor and the nice bloke i got it from is a drag racer!... lying around in his shed was a full (blow through, i think) turbo kit! so hopefully next pay day i should be going to pick that kit up! so it should go like FUUUUUCK!!... and try to MURDER DEATH KILL me! oh and i want to kind of cafe racer it and make it twin shock again so any good input, help, tips would help please... hope to finish it cheers jason

well a couple of weeks has past and no building has happened, but... i picked up the front end finally got the motor out of the car and into t' shed! it came with minimal wiring, coils, leads, relay, battery box etc... also should have a set of engine conversion brackets on the way too. i am uumming and aarring about the rear suspension. i am not sure wether to go for the twin shock or finish off the monoshock conversion? it will mean welding for both options, the back of the frame has been cut off, so there are no top shock mounts for twin shock, and the monoshock spring mounts will need to be done if i go that way. which option do you guys recommend?

I'd go monoshock to avoid redoing the back half of the frame, as it looks now the frame dont look wide enough to get twinshocks clearing the chain etc without them sticking out on quite long mounts & that always looks messy imho

i like the hype-especially the tubocharger system bit !
i say be different-build it as a twin mono shock-never seen that done-two shocks in the place where the one would be- same as a vincent but upside down

i managed to get out in the garage today and do some stuff!. i got the imfamous 30x47x12 headstock bearing fitted, got the bottom yoke in but couldn't fit the top one, so a bit of cutting and filing to be done there first. then got the forks and calipers on.... lovely! and then had a little fiddle!?... with the rear wheel, just making sure all t' spacers etc are present and correct?... and yes there are! GOOD! thats about it so far...

hello peoples... well, another week has passed and not much spanner work has been done in the garage, but... some lovely engine conversion brackets arrived from a bloke called stu, from a place called warpspeed racing? ... dont know if anybody here has heard of him? (rofl)LMAO i also went and picked up the turbo kit, which is a td04 on a stainless manifold. the carbs are 36mm with an ally plenum and also got a intercooler which is a bit big but got it anyway. you never know! i am going to bin off the triumph rear wheel and swing arm cos i have bought a 750SRAD complete rear end! i have found a early gsx1100 tank with cap etc, etc... just one thing... i have been told to get a malpasi fuel regulator. i know it sounds like i am being a bit simple, do i go with the twin outlet one? so hopefully this week i shall get out into t' garage and do something! LOL a'thankyou!
