Hi all I've been looking at the Chinese TD05-16G turbos. Does anyone know if you can retrofit the plain journal bearings with roller bearings. If so where can I get them? It's going to be installed on my gs thou. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Fairly sure BB's are not a retrofit possibility - I know you can't with Garrett's - The centre cartridge machining is completely different.

I've now been told a turbo only needs about 15-20psi not sure if this is true? Could I get this pressure with the oil pump mods mentioned in other threads?

That would be a low end estimate for a plain bearing turbo, ideally aim for 30psi. But plenty of roller bearing'd GSX / KZ engines have used 'normal' turbos. Local modification to the oil supply can bump up the pressure sufficient for reliable use so don't despair!
