Was going to do a R6/1 rear shock Replacement, but 10mm shorter would cost 50 quid min and all the hassle of cutting and drilling. Decided on a Rear Shock Rebuild, Stripped down, quick check all seems ok. ("but what do i Know"?) Quick coat of Paint on spring, some new rock oil, Gased up With Special Mixture: In she Goes Set spring Peload: 10mm Static Sag 35mm Rider sag Using Suzuki Special Tool Number # Another Job Done

Manky old Carbs: After some work with Brass Brush on the hobby tool some black paint and a bit of Stainless Allen Bolt Bling, Replaced all the Link Hoses and clips Pilot screw chewed drilled it and tried easy out, snapped ended up having to cut tube to put a slot in easy out got it free, then had to j&b tube back on, then use new pilot to tap threads, fingers crossed that it's Air Tight Things not to do is try to remove the Plastic Sliders from carbs Snapped off the bolts had to drill them out and tap out with new screws Fitted Carbs when turned on fuel, well flooded running out the back of the carbs Next job was to get Float height Adjusted Hope there ok Proof will be when it's running, But for now there done on to the next job.

Battery Box was a Bit Manky Been Wanting to move the Battery Box For about 20 Years just after i had to cut the side panels down after they were cracked, Got a R6 Battery as it quite compact, wanted to move it lower in frame made up a cardboard mock-up Placed it in seemed to work quite well when fitted Mount for starter Solenoid was to tricky to mount flat so stood it up and fitter Cdi Back to back with it Excess Wiring chopped out and new Blue Multi lead fitted Relocated Fuse Box, Flasher and Circuit Breaker to bracket behind Tank Bracket Could have fitted it in space in front of CDI, but didn't fancy taking the tank off, if i blew a fuse, also give somewhere for rear reservoir to mount to Profile not that bad Nice piece of plate will tidy up the underneath Quite Chuffed with the Result not the best but there you go, Another job out the way

Nice work with the battery tray, I have been working on a custom one for my bike and it takes load more effort than you would think.

Nice work with the battery tray, I have been working on a custom one for my bike and it takes load more effort than you would think. Cheers! Wanted to do it for a while, not 100% finished, but want to ruff out the bike and get it MOT'd, Then i can Do the Final bits as and when, if ever, it seems that every move forward is two steps back at the minute.

After painting the Front Bracket started refitting Clocks and Headlight Only to find a few Problems One of the Lamps One was a bit Wobbly and one had a Small Bulls-eye Chip Stripped out the Lamps Small Retaining Clips Were Broken and Side Light Holders and screws were U/S Screws are no problem, get stainless ones, bulb holders are 9 Quid each from RobFndy but there order items, so may be sometime, Headlight 50 Quid, clips 3 Quid So all in were looking' at about 80 Quid, will have a hunt around to see what i can get off auction or if there are interchangeable parts. Fingers Crossed

Will need to buy Headlights as have had no info update on interchangeability of headlight, and as i ain't got spare cash for Headlights, will move on to other Part of the Project. Front Calipers U/S Nissin Caliper Conversion:It's been done a thousand times, and everyone does it different, which is half the fun! Bought these ages ago when i had regular work and was a bit Flush! Quite liked the look of the full size adapter plates so mocked up some wooden templates All went well till it came to the reality of trying to make them out of a lump of Ally block with a drill angle grinder and hack saw. So Not going to happen; had a beer and a smoke....Ah-ha! Revised Plan, Remembered the thread about the small adapter block the Old Site Info Page. So made some quick measurement and as luck would have it the block i had, dimensions were spot on. Cut out Blank: Bit of Shaping Drilling and Tapping: Tapped out both holes as i didn't want to use a long bolt and nut, to secure calipers then had to Drill out Fork Caliper mount to 10mm and test fitted the Adapters on forks Had some work to do when fitting the calipers to the adapters because the adapters fit behind the calipers and not in front there are some raised parts of the caliper that need filling to get a flush fit but small grinder does the trick, the adapter thread the caliper bolts into had to be trimmed back to sync the threads, but apart from that i think it went quite well, a bit over ambitious at the start but in the end another bit of the project done.
