cut subframe down enough so this crosspiece can also serve as tank mounting point cut slots into the frame for the anchor plates , pushed them right in to drill through frame and then put 8mm bar through and welded in for solid mount . also have cut the panel lugs off the tank as they are now in the way .

studs fitted , ignore the welds they are tidied up ! bottom brace is 6mm flat bar straight across as forces acting downwards on this and rails are narrower than the frame , could have used angle iron perhaps although with airbox still fitted battery space is limited so wouldn't have saved any space

needed to reduce angle of bottom rail to land on cross member so a welder mate did this and cut & shut the fillet plate . removed those temporary slugs and made some new ones from 20mm round bar and 15mm square bar which are same ext size as subframe rails . so after much jiggling about this is how it sat .

made some card templates and then cut these undertrays to suit. forgot to mention earlier that the seat front anchor lug fits nicely under the tank mount crossmember and that dictated the amount I cut the subframe down by . had to make a mount plate for the seat lock when that finally arrived , think the seat sits forward of stock now but if id cut rails more they would be too narrow anyway , hope that made sense . then I knocked up this battery box out of odds and ends ( using a gel battery as its lying down a bit ) can see seat catch a bit better here
