Hi guys, a customer brought a 2004 GSX-R750 with a cracked middle crankcase, which has to be repaired. Am I correct in thinking that the crankcases can be split without removing the head/pistons/crankshaft?

I did it on my '96 SRAD (to sort out a gearbox issue) which is a previous incarnation of the same engine, so there should be no problem with a K4
EDIT: I only took the bottom case off mine, not sure about the middle section...

turns out to be possible, disassembled the engine yesterday. Crankshaft remains in the top crankcase/cilinder block and everything lower is now in pieces.
