Guess this is the right section to ask, seeing as my bike has a 94 w/c chassis, Am currently running with standard 750 wheels, was wondering if I can upgrade to a more modern pair with little or no modifications and if so what?

No..
all the lighter/wider more modern stuff has different spindle sizes and disc offset and sprocket offset.
It can be done with some machined up spacers and stuff and disc spacers and re aligning the sprocket and chain run, but with no mods NO
