Wait till you get out on the open road with it, the grunt those motors make is ace, you wont be disappointed

I noticed the engine braking is awesome plus it makes the neighbours kids cry when I start it which is a bonus

Mine's making me cry at the moment. I hurt my back getting it out of the bedroom, I can't even stand up now lol Just as well I have a week off work this week, supposed to be going to Leeds tomorrow to see the family. No chance of that at the mo.

Your joking lugs what a twat you didn't have to carry it down the stairs did you ? Not quite, our spare room has French windows with 3 steps up to them. I had to lift the front end over the door bar cos the collector was catching...it wasn't too bad getting it in, but getting it out was a different story. Can hardly move now, sleeping on the living room floor with the dogs tonight

It looks well Ken, nice job fella. I know what you mean about your youthfull desires. I've owned mine now since 1989, is it the longest owned? Doesn't exactly look too much like one anymore, still recognisable but it is still a purposefull bike, built to do what it does. I try to get the best out of it, but age is a factor here. and fear as it tries to kill me everytime I'm on it. ha ha! Don't think I'd ever sell it, my son will more tha likely end up with it, but as it's not a road bike, not sure what he'll do with it. Forgive the shamelss picture.

Thanks fellas, it still puts the same smile on my face evrytime I ride it, sorry fight with it!
Fook me Ken, sounds like you and I had a fairly similar youth, I had a brother that was three years older than me, so I had to beg for lifts on the back when I was about 14, never been so fucking scared in me life, but loved it at the same time. I can also remember the times we left the pub, most of us made it out of the car park then would turn into complete arseholes riding far too fast in the dark and some how getting away with it for the most part.
When I first got the bike back then, my mates then was a gs1000, cbx1000 and a z1000j also, great times indeed, the pc brigade have fucked all that up forever, we have to be protected from ourselves nowadays because there's too many fuckwits about not out to have fun, just out to cause trouble which bans everything that is good for a laugh!
Here's hoping you get many good times on the old thing, mine has given me so many fucking headaches but a shit load of pleasure too! ha ha!
My first meeting this year is in 3 weeks can't wait.
I've also treated myself to some tracktime in Aragon later this year, can't wait for that either.

That's how Gary Rothwell started out...messing about wheelying old overweight dinosaurs outside pubs etc, anyone remember seeing him wheelie Z1300's ? Then he got a bit famous and ended up with 1100 slingshots - brilliant.

That's crazy sound like me an you are in the same dimension you had a pisser growing up like me , I used go on the back of a lad on a z 550 he used to polish the seat on purpose and took the grab rail off cause he used piss himself at me clinging on to dear life lol and back then people used bikes as transport every day cause cars were slow and expensive so not many about on the road now every house hold has 2 -4 cars, so you could hoon about not seeing many cars bk then everything was better then they used to pay me to grind my pegs on a ar 50 just to see me nearly come off when I look at a ar now how think how the fuck did I do it

Ha ha, exactly fella great times, then life took over. I have been bike made since I was 10 and could understand what it was all about, bored the shit out of many a woman over the years about bikes, even lost one or two when they gave you the old ultimatum, me or the bike, ok then fook off! Proof is this bike has outlasted all of them.
