It was £390 delivered back to me. That's for porting, matching the plenum to the intakes, re-cut valve seats and re-bore the barrels for the new pistons.
Got to check the head for flatness but I think that's a good price.

You want keep at CR ...lets say 10:1 (?) with this pistons, or you reduce it a bit more with combustion chamber or piston working or may be spacer?

Those pistons take it to about 10:1 but I do want it a bit lower. I'll dry build it and see what comp it comes out at then I'll either get Roger to see if he can safely dish the pistons the required amount or I've got a base spacer I could use. Took the bike to the Manchester show this weekend, got a fair bit of interest and didn't look too shabby.

These pistons are about 9.8:1 You need spacer

At that CR it wouldn't take to much of a dish in the pistons to get it down to sub 9.5:1 A dish with a decent retained squish band would make a good well burning combination with minimal detonation potential.

Cheers Pasis, I knew it was around there somewhere.
That's hopefully how it'll end up being done Katana, I'll dry build it and see what sort of squish and cr I've got then see about getting the pistons dished to drop the cr.

Bought some new Koso clocks from the manc show. Will hopefully fit on the headlight frame rather than the yokes and look something like this...

Picked these up the other day, all off a Buell 1125. Also dropped the crank, rods, pistons and wrist pins off to be balanced up. Started cleaning the cases ready for painting. Also started painting the odd bit, fairly easy really. Just have to build the PJ1 up slowly. Cam cover primered, And painted, dulls off to a nice satin finish when dry, Starter Clutch cover It shows up the odd dink but I'm not spending my entire life getting rid of them!

Cheers Ash, hopefully it'll go well and be a reliable engine after all this. The bill is certainly adding up!
Do you have to bake the PJ1 or is it good? The tin says it cures overnight but nothing about baking it.

Got the pillion seat pretty much mounted, just need to find a lock. I wouldn't be getting on the back that's for sure! Rear caliper hanger and torque arm came off the mill today, fits perfect first time. Don't know if I'm good at measuring and drawing or just lucky! Gave it a quick sand blast and got rid of the machining marks and it looks pretty trick. Will get it anodised black.
