Tonight's effort Oil seals in and a nice set of valves waiting! Only 16 sets of these to do... Bought this tool off here a while ago now, bloody useful!! 4 down... A full set ready to go! Then I separated the shims I have, some a marked up, others not. Will have to borrow a micrometer to check the unknown ones. Will start with the 168's in all as a base measurement then go from there.

Shims arrived this morning.
Intake clearances are 4 at .10 3 at .11 1 at .12
Exhaust clearances are 5 at .20 1 at .21 2 at .22
Close enough for me. I'll double check them once the engine is together and timed up.

Its moved to its new home! Having a look at fitting the air filter now, bought an itg foam one with backplate. Hoping it'll be big enough but also blend in. They do a domed filter that fits the plate I have so I'll probably end up with that rather than the squared one I have.

Back plate bolted up, needs the hole putting in it and I'll sleeve and seal it with part of the original velocity stack. The domed one will look neater against the frame but it doesn't stick out any further than the engine.

Back plate for the air box is mostly done, just need to fit the water injection nozzle. Not sure if its the ideal velocity stack but I can always trim it down. Need to decide on the straight or domed filter before I trim this one to fit.

That will hurt flow but if you want some of the flow back get a length of small bore rubber hose 1/8 or 3/16" ID will be fine - length same as circumference of the ram pipe and split it along its length. Dress the split over the end of the ram tube and glue in position - instant rounded edge will help flow and cost pennies!

Picked this up from WSR at Santa Pod on Sunday. Doesn't quite fit my clutch so I'll need a few B12 bits to make a hybrid. Got the clutch cover back as well, re-machined to get rid of the dent.

Horrendously expensive bearings are here, plus a few circlips and a new starter clutch that I got for £30 off ebay. Gearbox has been stripped down, I've selected the best bits from 3 or 4 boxes. All cleaned, new circlips and bearings and installed into the upper case. Ready to drop the lower case on now. Suzuki bond and some stainless bolts should be here tomorrow. Using the original bolts for the crank bearings. Lesson no. 1 in engine building. Check EVERYTHING twice! Forgot to press the sprocket spacer on the output shaft and fit the oil seal. Done.
