Evening all my first post on the boars and can assure you it wont be my last! Have just bought a Suzuki Sg 350 "goose" project. engine is connected as is the front/ back wheel and everything else is in a box. Picking it up tomorrow, shaking with excitement about how much fun I am going to have putting it back together and turning in to a great little cafe racer ( I know, everyone does it). P.s previously owned a H**da, someone persuaded me to get a suzuki, said I will never look back. Let's see how true that is. Sorry for the re-post. Thought this might get more of a viewing in this sub. Am here for ideas and any help you boys can give me! look forward to hearing it all

Especially like the look of the frame on these "Goose" bikes although I actually know little about them.. I suppose the SG350 uses the DR350 engine? Maybe the DR600/650 engine will fit too without too many mods? And make for a nice upgrade powerwise.. Am here for ideas and any help you boys can give me! look forward to hearing it all Well.. Here's an idea: Why not move this topic to the proper sub-forum as it is a true project after all..

Yea it's a really cool looking little bike. Like the sound of a 650 engine sitting in it, but will start off with getting this one going then seeing what I can do to it engine wise. Need to sort a couple of bits out e.g tt is missing the rev counter, and a new battery.
Next job for me is to get it down to just the frame get rid of any corrosion and neaten it up for painting.

Progress so far - Rear seat sculpted to somewhere close to what I want it. Deciding now whether to have an aluminium rear seat and cowel or keep it plastic. Engine has also been removed to clean down (and eventually paint) and prepping the frame for paint.

If you find you want a performance boost after getting it back on the road consider a 441 conversion, I rode a dr350 with the 441 conversion a good few years ago and it made a huge difference to the performance compared to standard bike

An update, had this bike a couple of months now. Unfortunately work on this bike has had to stop until mid march as I have an exam. But here's how its gone so far... Firstly I have now completely stripped the bike in to component form, so if anything, I have gone backwards (to go forwards). When I bought the bike someone had butchered the back, so bought a frame loop off ebay to fit. Unfortunately, finding a frame loop with the same wall thickness as my frame proved impossible, so had to lathe some metal slugs with different diameters to fit in each end. Going to weld a metal plate across the frame loop to provide rigidity and a base to store the battery. imgur.com/t5COt3dimgur.com/EY9PIxBimgur.com/kMQRm4OHave included a picture with the seat unit manipulated (on paint) to how I want it to look. imgur.com/qDBkkxSWith the limited amount of space underneath it I am thinking of making a frame that will come backwards from my swing arm, that will hold my licence plate number about halfway up the back wheel. Similar to this (not the same bike) imgur.com/gUO3Wsa
