Ok so the old girls looking a bit tatty now after years of abuse, and so is the bike.:-) Decided its about time for some fresh paint, the usd's that have been in the shed for 5 years, and get the motor running right.

Few mods along the way. Started like last time "I'll just strip it and refresh the paint, to tart it up a bit dear."

same here.... changing the spark plugs usually ends up as a complete stripdown and frame repaint job.

Well the bike was brought in late 07, after being hit by an arctic on my xj600n, a mate's son had it sat in his garden for 18 months so I gave him £700 for it. The frame was a bit tatty and so was the rest of the body work, but £700 for a winter hack was more then reasonable.
Early 2008 I decided to clean her up with some fresh paint, candy corane orange or as most people call it RED, an undertray and belly pan where ordered from flee bay and that was that. WRONG the undertray was so bad I lobed it up the garden after sodding about for hours trying to get a good fit. I asked the wife "will you ever get on a bike with me?" And putting it politely her answer was NO. That's when I got a bit carried away..... single Ducati style seat, b12 back end-for a proper size tyre, 2 inch jack, bin the stock downpipes for microns, Gilles rear sets, GSXR 750 lump, b12 carb's and air box, renthals, Throw away excess weight-center stand, pillion pegs, tiedown hooks/bars, b12 oil cooler, every thing painted black and panels in rizzla colours.
That was July 2008.
A couple of weeks later I broke the gearbox. When oss's CJ came up with a tts built GSXR 884 lump, he had purchased the bike but only wanted the frame and suspension for a 7/11, the lump had thousands spent- lighten/balanced internals, head work, cams...... so that got put in and that's how things have been till now.....
TO BE CONTINUED!

Well 4 days have past and parts are arriving, now have all the unions, pipe and cooler (half way through making the brackets), good set of GSXR usd's (on way), 750 cdi sourced, new head bearings, all paint and supplies purchased, new throttle and clutch cables, bearing for shock linkage. All part, except the engine, have been cleaned. Plastics all prepared for paint, just the tank left to prep' and that needs a couple of small dings filled, really wish I hadn't lacquered over the stickers as the took hours to get off.

Well spent days getting all the stickers off and flating back the body panels, one of those times when you wish you could get hold of the twat that put clear coat over the stickers and beat the crap out of them, but I don't do self harming. On with high build primer, go for coffee and a fag, come back to reacted primer all over the seat unit, oh how I laughed.

Bloody thing was never shut anyway, was a pain in the arse cos' if anyone did shut it I then had to open it to get the bike in/out.
Wife thinks some pikey nicked it. So I'll have to paint it, put what's left of it back on and tell her I got a new one.
