I know this is a problem that a lot of owners have, is there any other solution to solve the leaking other than replace the head gasket? I thought i read somewhere that someone had done it with solder?

Could well be the o-rings of the diabolo head stud nuts. I'd have a try at those first.

You can't fix oil leaks without removing the cylinder head.!

degrease and powerwash it clean first so you can try and pin down the location of the leak. as has been said, odds are that its the o rings on the head stud bolts between the centre two pots. common problem as plenty of folks dont think to change em.

Clean it properly , remove the rocker cover and one at a time remove the one of the nuts with the o rings on, replace the o ring with a genuine one then replace the nut and retorque it, once done tackle the other one and it shouldn't cause any problems with the head gasket coming unsealed

Had exactly the same problem with my kat and followed the proceedure john and neil just described. I did shell out for a genuine rocker cover gasket though. Solved what I was convinced was the head gasket.

Hi mates,
This week i will replace the headgasket, however someone advised me to replace the bottom cylindergasket too, is this really necessary?

Hi mates, This week i will replace the headgasket, however someone advised me to replace the bottom cylindergasket too, is this really necessary? if the barrels move (even slightly) when removing the head, and there's a big chance they will, the base gasket will leak. I would replace the base gasket as well once the engine is in pieces just to be sure.
