here are a few pics of our gs550 cafe racer build, we aquired this bike a couple of years ago without documents & a box of bits in a pretty poor state in a job lot of gs550's & spares. when the documents came through it was turned out to be a 1 owner bike with 7k miles on it, but it was still a shed, anyway we cut decided on making a rickman style bike with a few modern twists, we made a rickman style long tank cover & seat out of foam & filler then made a mould & these, we already made a fairing that was suitable with a few modifications so we could use the twin projector lights (ducati 999 style). Rims were powdercoated black & re laced with stainless spokes. Its now a fully wired with our own very basic loom to incorporate the electronic clocks- even the gear shows on the clocks.all electrics & lithium ion battery in the hump. All the body work is finished in ford imperial blue base coat (some lights its blue others its purple) then added a mix of blue & purple fine flake to the first coat of lacquer, then another 5 coats. Just need to fabricate the silencers & link pipe & the lower fairing brackets & its out for a test ride hope you like it
