figured I'd join this forum and post my project up here. It seems like more people here have done stuff like this and, well that's a good thing.
the bike currently runs and rides, but it could be better. It's a 34 year old shaft bike with a 5 speed and a single front disk and caliper. It's OK, it gets me in the breeze.
I guess ill ill start withy the first part of the project (which was done last year)

This is how it started. $350 Craig's list jumble.

This was the bike when it was almost finished. Never took pics when it was 100%

All in all I put less than $1000 in the bike including tag, registration, and insurance.
I recently picked up a 1994 suzuki katana 600 for $75 and a frame for an '82 GS650 for free to use for mock up. I couldn't pass it up, and where a 600 goes a 750 will go, which is the eventual plan.

You did well, start a build thread with the next bike It'll be a redo on this bike, getting the modern bits from the Katana. my cell phone camera is shoddy and I don't like taking my good one out to the garage, but I'll try to keep a running log.

I was worried about having to buy an exhaust. I fitted it up on the bench and it worked. It wasn't aftermerket and it wasn't katana. First gen GSXR, score.

Calipers came in. $18 for the pair w/ lines.
Going to get this front end on the running bike and get some riding in while I'm working on the reboot.

Went by the recycling yard and picked up some odds and ends.
They have a nice gs650gt bike I think I'm going to get the tank, seat, and rear cowl off of. Much better look than the GL bits.
