I have a 93 GSXR 750 rolling chassis that I purchased from a guy in Rhode Island, NJ in November 2014. I then bought a 1100w motor to put on this monster in January 2015 and completely restored the bike to the best I can. Took me 4 months to get this baby back together piece by piece on a limited $1000 budget, and this happens to me.
Problem is I was riding right before winter at all of a sudden, power-loss and smoke coming from engine, almost like a misfire from a cylinder.
So I took it back home and cleaned the carbs and sparkplugs because I thought that was the problem, and after all that it still ran like crap.
So Then I changed the oil and I saw cooper and metal in the oil pan and metal bits. Engine has a loud knocking sound and it doesn't rev easily. Im thinking rod-bearing has been shot.
*I Need Someone's Help. - Please Donate a 1100w Engine
Is it worth repairing the engine or it is better getting a new engine for it? If I was to repair the engine, what needs to be replaced when the main rod bearing goes out? Pistons, top head, cams...

split the crankcases (this can be done without removing the head and cilinders etc) and have a look at the crankshaft and connecting rods. Then post some pics/ask for advise.
