Little pre-amble, live about three miles from Santa Pod, and after several years of watching, finally decided to get on the track myself.
Plan is to do a few RWYB's hopefully later this year, see how I get (try not to scare the sh1t out of myself), and then try and get more involved more competitively.
So, I bought a non running GSX1100ESD last year. Would have loved an EFE (on my dream bike list) but well out of my budget. Got her running and MOT'd and then started collecting bits.
Thanks to a plethora of stupidly cheap ebay bargains, so far I have either bought or altered the following:
Chassis/running gear
Kosman swingarm and b12 rear wheel and caliper
Extended seat rails and seat by about 3 inches.
Dropped forks, fitted clip ons, and forkbrace
Swapped 19" wheel for 16" GS750 (to further lower front end). GSXR master cylinder.
Single disc (from Blackbird) and Nissin four pot caliper on bracket
Air shifter (air in swingarm)
Vented catch tank
I also got a set of wheelie bars (not really necessary, but at £35 I couldn't turn them down!!!)
Engine/ignition:
Engine internals completely standard at the moment apart from crank breather and camchain adjuster
Got a set of GSXR 38 carbs to go on, with bellmouths (will get them jetted up properly on a local dyno)
Vance and Hines sidewinder pipe.
Dyna 2000 ignition
Dyna coils/Taylor leads
Dyna DRL 300 rev limiter (for launch control)
Pingel fuel tap
NOS kit (supposedly 50bhp, so may need to reduce)
Schnitz Nitrous controller
On Easter break at the moment, so starting to bolt things together. Onto the first on many questions!
I'm going to use the GSX hub in the bandit wheel, so understand I need a 5/8" offset front sprocket. Also a 520 or 530 chain? Any recommendations for the number of teeth for front and rear sprocket? I appreciate I may want to change after a few runs but a starter would be good! Thank you.
