Sorry about all the questions but this will be my first time turbo img a carb set up so ill need to pick your brains a little haha
Firstly what cylinder compression ratio should I be aiming for a turbo set up?
Secondly How do I prep the gsxr carbs for the turbo install? (I'll find out exact size in the morning)
I've also noticed on a few turbo threads that I need to retard the timing a little at different points. Is this ignition timing or cam timing? Am I able to do this with carbs? Is this done the same way as with inj engines via a mega squirt or dyna 2000 module?

read the turbo sub-board in the info section.
If then you still have any questions, ask away.

then your second question should not be needed.
Compression ratio of 8:1 or thereabouts is good.

I did read your post in that thread about the carbs but it doesn't actually say what you need to do to the carbs prior to dailing them in.

Using carbs with blow through is about sealing - anywhere that can leak pressurised air will cause issues or in-efficency. The two screw plastic caps are deffo suspect - seen several blown to bits..... mind you they were being 'Cooperized' to the max. Unless you are going for max output i'd search out some metal topped 34mm CV's. The new Dyna 2000 can have a ignition 'curve' made to suit but it is a bit course resolution wise - ideally something that can be 3D mapped would be better - Megajolt for example?

Cheers bud, I'll add one to the shopping list lol
Where is the easiest/best place to get an oil feed for the turbo?

Megajolt is a great unit, but the ford edis module it drives is only good for 9000-9500rpm tops unfortunately. Probably still ok for an 1100 turbo as you wouldn't need to spin it any harder than that any way. If you can live with that then it's a very good option offering full 3d mapping of the ignition, fully manifold pressure referenced. I was gonna use the edis system when I first went efi on my 750, and got as far as mocking it up using the gsxr VR sensor driving into edis, with a 36-1 trigger wheel. It through sparks out just fine.So megajolt would be a pretty easy install, just a trigger wheel needed, and wiring.

I dropped it when I found out about the rev limit as the 750 at least had to get to 12000rpm.

I have had MegaJolt (I've made engine swap on mine Mercedes G230 to 560 engine...long time ago, in some other galaxy ) and as far as I remember, EDIS use Hall sensor. So you must swap trigger sensor too, as far GSXR sensor is Reluctor/VR. Turbo oil line....classic solutions is form tap bolt on main oil gallery.

Nope, definitely uses VR sensor and like I say, I tested it with the gsxr VR sensor and it worked fine.

Here you can see the turbo oil supply line...and there is bolt who closes main oil gallery. U can drilled it or use banjo bolt instead or any other fitting that u can find.

and put a restriction in the line, 0,75mm is large enough to feed the turbo. Too much oil means drain problems.

Awesome thanks cc. I think I'd prefer to put in a banjo. Any idea what size and thread the standard bolt is?
