Hi there. Just got an old GSX1100EFE. Also got a couple of USD front ends and a rear swing arm in the shed from a 1996 GSX-R1100W. I want to fit that to the EFE. Are any of you guys able to link me to a thread where that has allready been done, preferably with pictures, measurements etc.? My major concerns/questions are: The USD fork legs are 6 cm/ 2,5 inches shorter then the EFE ones, how is that going to affect handling and what about ground clearance for the exhaust? Which stearing stem bearings will fit? Is it possible to run the -W 6 inch rear wheel or is there only space for something more narrow? I´d like the tail to be quite high, can anybody link to a place that sells jack up kits? Can anybody link to a place that sells head light holders that´ll fit around the quite wide USD forks? I´ve got a LSL top yoke for normal handlebars for the USD forks, so can anybody link to a place that sells extended cables for the EFE? There are probably other things I haven´t thought about and yes I know that I can just crack on with it and slowly get it all to fit, by fitting, measuring, re-fitting, adapting and so on, and I´m also aware that a local machine shop will be able to manufacture parts for raising the tail, and that I can manufacture the cables with parts from e.g. Venhill But I´m riding the bike a lot so if anybody can please help me with these issues then it´ll be a lot easyer to one by one make these mod´s as weekend projects, instead of having to invent it all from scratch, sorry if I come across as lazy Thanks a lot in advance for you help guys.

The Gixxer fork will fit right in the EFE headstock, no modification on the bearings necessary - just lockstops have to be sorted.
As you already pointed out - the USD fork ist quite short. This fact answers your questions about handling and ground clearance. Once you fitted that fork, you don't want to jack up the arse even more.

Get the arse end jacked up , it'll handle and give you ground clearance at the same time !!

Get the arse end jacked up , it'll handle and give you ground clearance at the same time !! Yup.. Apart from much needed ground clearance the raised rear will steepen the steering angle, bringing it closer to that of the donor bike.. If you don't, the EFE will steer very heavy.. You might consider also swapping the swingarm, although that isn't as easy as with the front.. (Bandit 1200 arms are a popular choice) Either way the max. tyre with is about 180mm* due to the narrow frame rails.. So using a 5.5" wheel would be better suited.. (* = fitting a narrower chain would free up extra space.. A 520 non O-ring chain is about the thinnest, but might not suit the Danish climate.. )
