It will go over a speed hump and split in half surely it couldn't get an mot to even be allowed on the road!!

surely it couldn't get an mot to even be allowed on the road!! Doesn't need one. The bike is for sale in the Republic where we don't have any mot's -yet. So no problem putting it on the road if you're stupid enough. But it should be declared as a highly modified to the insurance broker, who would then want to know whats been modified and get pics. So there's a very big chance that they would want a engineers report if it looks a mess before they decide on (turning down) insuring. In general, custom bikes over here are built to a fairly high standard, but there are always exceptions to the rule. Every village has its idiot, and out of these idiots one or two think they have the skills far beyond their means.

Whoever built that contraption should have their tool kit (which presumably consists only of a hacksaw, lump hammer and socket set) taken away from them by an adult, and put somewhere safe until they are old enough not to cause themselves or anyone else any harm.

He probably picked up the tools thinking they were his crayons
