I haven't had much chance to ride my new ef, but I'm not convinced about the 16" front wheel. I told myself I wouldn't mess about with this bike (it's standard and in decent condition, and I don't want to be tempted into a full mod/rebuild).... But I have a few options. 1. I have a set of Astralites 3x17 front and 4.5x 18 rear which were once fitted to an efe so I think should fit straight on. I'd have to keep the same crappy calipers, but it 'should' be a pretty simple swap, would look great IMHO and give more modern wheels. Question is, will I need to use an offset front sprocket with a 160 tyre? 2. Bandit forks and wheels. Better brakes, modern wheels and tyres. 3. Gsxr11 usd forks and wheels: better brakes, wheels. But I want to use the full fairing - will USDs fit within the fairing? (I assume if I want to use a 180 rear I'll need offset front sprocket, swap to 530 chain and use a katana 750 or gs500 sprocket carrier as I used in my never ending katana build) 4. Leave it as is, and stop being a tart! what do you think? while I'm writing, the current carbs need a real deep clean, but if I am going to mess with it, am I right in thinking bandit 36mm carbs? thanks Liam

If the astralites have all the spacers to bolt straight in, just try them and see how they pan out. Bandit suspension and brakes aren't that brilliant anyway (more budget than performance) and you should be able to get modern rubber for the AL back wheel. Do the stock discs fit onto the astralites? You will get better steering using the AL front (it's light) than a gsxr/bandit front wheel in the same size because they are pretty heavy.
