What are the differences between an ET and a KATANA 1100 engine. Thanks in advance.

Basically the same engine. You might find different genny rotor diameters (Katana used to be smaller, 130 mm <=> 118 mm), so also different stators and covers. Also: depending on engine# theres 20 bolts and 24 bolts cam covers.

Also different "493" rods which are beefier.. Slightly different timing/duration of the cams.. Several components from different alloys.. No oil bore in crank taper.. Capped off tach drive..

Found a pic I once took of some rods to compare them.. Front to back: EFE (00A), Katana (493), ET/EX/EZ/ESD (492)

...well, I can see every pic. Issues with your mobile phone not being smart enough...? Thanks for the confirmation Pedda, I didn't spot anything wrong either (even tried a proxy server to make sure, and wondered whether I had paid the bill of my host).. So it must your not-so-smartphone at fault here GSX!

That's why God invented computers.

Does the smaller rotor make a significant difference in how "revvy" it feels?

Does the smaller rotor make a significant difference in how "revvy" it feels? No expert on these mate but would say yes; how significant a difference?.. will leave that to be answered by someone who knows these motors better than I do

Emphatically yes, and not only that but it improves roll-on since you aren't overcoming the weight of a heavier "flywheel".
This is an old hot rodders' trick that Honda did first on the CB750F2 (lightened alternator rotor) and then Suzuki followed with both Katanas, nota bene, not just the 1100. Different part number. The standard rotor makes the bike easier off lights and with a passenger; the lighter one requires 100 more revs but will leave your passenger AT the light.

The 1000 cc katana motors were the only ones to have a reduced diameter rotor " for racing" the difference between the EFE and all the other motors are few. Different heads Different oiling to the top end ( can swap heads but need to know what your doing) Different piston pin / grudge on pin / wrist pin diameters Different cranks including both primary gears Different ratios Different clutches Different cases different stater motors Different sumps Different oil filter cove r plates Different ignition curve Bored....
