Just bought and put a gsx1100ef on the road after it was laid up for 3 years. It would start on choke, just, and then smoked a bit and felt like it only had 2 or 3 cylinders firing. Wouldn't pull on choke and took quite a while to warm up, even when warm it sounded poorly.
i really didn't want to strip carbs as I'm rubbish at it and too stingey to pay someone else, so looked on the web for a lazy way out before I got the spanners out. Lots of good reviews about profi fuel max, so I thought I'd give it a go..... And it worked a treat. I wasn't expecting much, but I've run about half a tank through so far and the difference is incredible. Starts well and runs miles better.
Still feels a bit low on power to me, but that may just be me (my other working bike's a stripped down zx12r). The profi instructions say run another full tank through if the bike has been standing though, so maybe that'll do the trick...
Good stuff if you're as lazy as me.

Liam No worries fella, just interested in hearing what a second application of this stuff does. Been reading only good things about this product... I'm hopeful that it's gonna help me when the time comes to start my bike. 'zooma

Went out yesterday. Now used one full tank in two 1/2 tank trips with about 10 days in between.
Started easily with no smoke. Bit of dark smoke when I turned choke down, but that cleared when I revved a bit and didn't return.
It may just be that I'm getting used to the bike, but it felt more responsive and quicker. I'll put some more in when I next fill the tank.
Liam
Ps, brakes still feel like they're made of wood and stone, and Im still getting my head around that trolley wheel at the front.

Thanks for that fella ... lot of reviews I've read with peeps who've used this stuff, report an increase in responsiveness. As for the EF's brakes and "trolley wheel" up front, might be why OSS member 'buggerlugs', updated his front end?. Maybe ya wanna keep things standard tho'?. Once again, I appreciate the update on the carb cleaner

Ayup
The front end on mine was already fitted when bought it - R1 forks and Triumph Daytona wheel and brakes.. If you have a standard front end on your EFE, the 'problem' will be the 16 inch front wheel ! They take some adjusting to if it's you've not ridden on one before. They feel super twitchy, and drop into corners a bit quick. They are ok when you have adjusted your riding style to them though. Best upgrade is GSXR/Bandit front end. USD's look cooler, but they are heavier, normal forks are lighter, and they handle as good if not better than USD's - in my opinion.
And also, thanks for the update on the additive, gonna try some in my B12
EDIT; just ordered some from M&P

Is it not possible to just fit another (larger) wheel to an EF/EFE fella?
