As my bike was getting a bit scruffy, it was time for a respray and tidy up. Being as its a 94 Gixxer I worked on several Lucky Strike/ Pepsi/ Shwantz replica paint jobs, but to be honest Sheene has always been my biking hero and I wanted to keep the bike mainly black with Red, so I looked into Sheene colourschemes. Finally the XR69 rep featured in PS mag and mentioned on here struck the right cord. I'm part way through the respray and have added a single seat conversion. As summer is slowly arriving its slowed down ( sunny rides, meets and heavy workload all contributing) so I'll post up so so far pics and add more as she progresses! So the single seat first. I wanted to be able to still take my wife on the bike at times, so it had to be interchangable with the back seat. It took a while to get a cheap rear seat but once I did, out came the fibreglass and paints and this is what occured: the seat hump still needs the foam pad adding ( now done ) and I'm waiting for some 'Faberge' stickers from a mate, but its in place and being used while I wait! Fairings next, so they were removed, a few scratches filled and faired and you join it at primer stage! ... That's it for photo' s so far, the fairings are finished sprayed, laquered and back on the bike, while the photo's are still in the camera waiting to be uploaded! I'll do that shortly......
