A query from a newbie here. Doing a top end rebuild on my '98 1200 Bandit and i'm trying to set the cams up. I've got both the Haynes and Clymer books and I cant quite see from the pics how the exhaust cam should be. Should the arrow below the number 1 be parallel to the top of the head and about 5mm above it or should it be so close to it that when seen from the r/h side it almost disappears from view? The pictures in the book don't look all that clear and I obviously don't want to get it wrong. The diagrams show it level and right next to it but when I set it like that it points slightly down. Any ideas folks. Many thanks.

Thanks very much fellas. I now have the piece of mind to continue, wouldn't want to get that bit wrong.
