The srad was based on the 500 gp bike and shared a similar schwantz frame

I read it shared dimensions?. I'd prefers it to look more like kevs rg 500. Although making it look like a srad would be funny on the road

shit forks. built like a panzer tank. and only 118 bhp to propel it along lol I always heard that the forks themselves were actually quite good once set up and were easy to upgrade as they could use 20mm ohlins cartridges.. deffo agree that the lack of power was an issue... have to admit tho..I'd still happily have one in my garage:-)

a guy I used to work with (he was Dutch champion 250cc in the '90s and rode a few GP's) had a very well set-up TLR. Don't know exactly what he did to it but it handled very well. But in stock form they are shite.
Anyway let's not contaminate this thread with TLR's. It's about awesome RGV500's.

I was once had the good fortune to have a pukka Shwantz RGV500 on our stand at Donington GP. I had all weekend to crawl all over it and study it and, at the end of Sunday, had to take it back to the team. I pushed it from the exhibition hall back to the paddock. Being a hot summer day and the paddock tunnel being quite a slope, I arrived a bit hot and knackered and the team looked at me, shook the bike to check for fuel an told me it was a runner and I should have rode it back. WHAT ? !!!! It would have been worth any bollocking if I'd known. I have to say, they look even better under the bodywork.
