Just wanted to see if its worth using a 5 degree timing advancer on a 91 gsxr 750?

As far as I know, all oil cooled bikes work well with an advancer Chris - the 750's need a bit of help lower down and this should help a bit with pick-up.

Slightly harder to start and with piss poor gas you'll get or get more detonation. Never seen an advantage on a dyno.

Doesn't show very much on dyno, maybe a hp or so max at certain points of rev range, but part throttle is better - don't expect big gains Chris, but it helps on standard type compression motors.

The advanser for the oil coolers was initially for the slabby 750 due to the enorm hole on 6/7k rpm

I went ahead and got a adjustable rotor coming. At least that way if i dont like the 5 degree advance i can play with it a little. It was only 45$ so why not give it a try? Assuming i am correct to advance it means to turn it in same direction as motor will turn?

By the way. Thanks for everyone's input. This is my first sport bike and i am learning. I came from Harley. Once i rode the gixxers i was hooked.lol
