o rings are fine as I said ( new were fitted) - center bolts/barrel nuts . I said under when I meant to say "on" no sealant used gsx1100ex lump taken to 1168 wise original sleeves as far as I know cometic gasket to suit 1168 - 75mm (not copper) head and block skim - not to my knowledge as I pointed out - surfaces are flat as. leak areas are either end and middle front and back - gasket looks to be sweating all round.
Ah.. "no sealant used".. Well, I always use a very thin smear of the silicone stuff at the oil separating positions.. So around the cam chain tunnel and figure of eight smears at the oil bores (and on either side of the gasket).. Like so only tidier and thinner : "Surfaces are flat".. Well that is actually hard to check even on a glass plate.. Only while skimming a cylinder head and/or the block you'd be be able to see all high or low spots.. But eitherway with the extra silicone sealant I think you'd stand a better chance of making it oil tight.. Also I'd give the retorqueing another go after several more heat cycles like katanamangler suggested..
